The Secular Segment strives to promote "Support, Education, Unity” in a virtual setting across the world to bridge gaps between religious and secular traditions and instill secular traditions into interfaith movements. Through various methods (i.e. educational information, multimedia databases, cooperation among other secular groups, etc) we strive to create a unity and respect for the secular community globally.
The main purpose of The Secular Segment is "Support, Education, Unity." We are committed to supporting the non-religious community by providing a listing of non-religious group organization's websites, creating an understanding and positive view concerning secularism, and offering a place for non-religious multimedia to be compiled and viewed.
The second purpose, education, is achieved by providing the Tradition of the Week, educational multimedia, dispelling the myths associated with the non-religious, and answering questions concerning our worldview. The Tradition of the Week is a blog-like page where we post information concerning a new faith tradition on a weekly basis. Our intention for the page falls back on the Education and Unity portions of our purpose.
Unity is achieved by establishing a respect for non-religious traditions by the religious community while at the same time showing the non-religious community that we must be mindful and respect the beliefs of those who identify with various faith traditions.
