JahwarAmber Fund,founded in 2009, is a secular organization registered as a trust under the lawsof Kenya, CAP 142. It is the sole national organization of its kind, promisinglocal support to humanist organizations of whatever type, with greater focus onUniversity groupings: embracing humanist, atheist, rationalist, secularist,skeptic, ethical cultural, freethought and similar organizations countrywide. JAFgrew from the vision held by the Humanist and Ethical Union of Kenya (HEUK), avoluntary body founded in 2004 which as at now is dormant and inactive. Wecontinue to promote the ideals and values of Humanism: an ethical philosophy oflife, based on a concern for humanity in general, and for human individual inparticular. Jahwar Amber Fund has increasingly expanded to become Kenya’snational voice of Humanism.

Drawing on thetalents of the most prominent and creative thinkers across a wide range ofdisciplines, Jahwar Amber Fund seeks to encourage critical thinking and wise publicpolicy through a variety of interrelated projects. The foundation will conveneconferences, produce films, sponsor scientific studies and opinion polls,publish original research, and offer material support to religious dissidentsand public intellectuals — all with the purpose of eroding the influence ofdogmatism, superstition, and bigotry in our country.
